Goiânia is the capital of the Brazilian state of Goiás. It was founded on October 24, 1933, for later on to substitute the City of Goiás as capital of the estado(1937). The city also has a system viário of the most efficient of the Country and it has good net of public and private teaching, with prominence for the higher education and profissionalizante, dentre which blunt the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), the Catholic University of Goiás (UCG) and countless other institutions of great search. Stand out the University Square, drifted in 1933 by architect Atílio Correia Lima, with the inauguration of Goiânia, projected in 1967 by architects Elder Rocha Lima and Valdemar Cordeiro and built in 1969 by the City hall. Today the city is taken by the cars and he/she is proud of having one of the best systems viários of the Country. But the enormous lines and silent bicycles still circulate for the oldest inhabitants' memory, that also keep with love the images of Central coffee in the corner of Anhanguera with the Street 7, Cine and Teatro Goiânia, the Great Hotel, the Central Market, the Bar and Lanches Acapulco, the Automóvel Clube. It is the Square of the Member of the Bandeiras, main logradouro public goianense, place where the more saudosistas still go reverence the statue of Silva's Bartolomeu Bueno with its bateia, and to remind of the romantic times that don't return more. Bordering municipal districts and Created metropolitan area for the Law Complemental no. 27 of December 30, 1999, the Metropolitan Area of Goiânia - RMG includes eleven municipal districts, including Goiânia. It was also created the Area of Integrated Development of Goiânia, that includes more nine municipal districts of the urban agglomerate of the capital. RMG has for main " objectives to integrate the organization, the planning and the execution of public functions of interest common of the municipal districts " that integrate her. Public functions are considered as those that extrapolate the ambit of just a municipal district, passing to be of the simultaneous interest of two or mais.É the most expressive area of the State of Goiás when its characteristic is enumerated, as: to contain its capital, about 35% of the state population, a third of its voters, about 80% of its university students and approximately 60% of its PIB.Os eleven municipal districts that compose the Metropolitan Area of Goiânia are: Abbey of Goiás, Aragoiânia, Aparecida from Goiânia, Goianápolis, Goiânia, Goianira, Hidrolândia, Nerópolis, Santo Antônio from Goiás, Senator Canedo and Trinidad. The Area of Integrated Development of Goiânia possesses more nine municipal districts: Beautiful View, Bonfinópolis, Brazabrantes, Caldazinha, Caturaí, Guapó, Inhumas, New Venice and Terezópolis of Goiás.
